We all want to nurture their minds and expand their abilities. Of course, it goes without saying that we all want to make them happy. As much fun as Sudoku is for grown-ups, it can be as amusing for kids. Their puzzles however, must be age-appropriate so as not to frustrate them rather than interest them. Any teacher will tell you that solving puzzles, will lead to interpretive and problem solving capabilities as they progress in school. This is one of the many things that will contribute to their abilities in the academic world.

Many of us think how nice it would be had we invented something that the world can use. There are quite a few of us who fantasize about being the person who invented electricity or perhaps even the car, and there’s no doubt that there are many people who wished they’d invented one of the most popular puzzle games of all time. But the man who did invent Sudoku is far from resting on his laurels. This man who unleashed the game on the unsuspecting world is ready to release more games that he says will be even more interesting and fun to play.

Maki Kaji is the Japanese inventor who unleashed Sudoku on the world and he’s been working diligently to come up with even better games that will entice people even more to want to play with the puzzles he creates. But it’s all right to be curious about how he does it. It’s the same kind of mind that enjoys playing the game of Sudoku that would also enjoy learning how it is created.

This intrepid inventor from Japan enlists the help of many people around him so that he can create the kind of games that will be enjoyed worldwide. While Japan has many thousands of amateur people who invent their own puzzles, Kaiji is in a different league from the competition in that he refines the work he does with the help of thousands of Japanese subscribers who subscribe to many of his quarterly magazines. He has been able to tap into the love of the puzzles that the Japanese people have and at the same time make his own work better before he presents it to an international audience.

He likes to describe the way he goes about his work as an incubator for new puzzles. Kaji says that by enlisting the help of thousands of people around him, its easy to get a good idea of the kind of puzzles that will go worldwide and people will like from one corner of the globe to the other. He publishes a puzzle magazine that comes out four times a year and always has several new offerings in each issue.

This is the method that he uses to refine the puzzles before he sends them to market and Kaiji says that if a new version of Sudoku is on the way soon, it will come from his company.

Almost right away that game became popular enough that it underwent some revisions and soon again emerged resembling very closely the modern Sudoku we see today. Like a lot of other things, entertainment in the gaming world that we once thought was brand new is really something that comes to us from the past and has been refined and passed along from generation to generation.

One of the first things that you’ll need to learn about the Sudoku puzzle and how the game is played is that there isn’t really any difference between the hard and easy version of the game. Every single one of these puzzles follows basically the same pattern of logic. Often there will be certain cells that can be filled as soon as you spot them while at other times the chain will slow down and move at one or two things at a time. In this way Sudoku is a game of patience as well as acumen.

Remember that even when a piece of reasoning doesn’t let you fill a cell, it can still be useful. There usually comes a point in every Sudoku where the puzzle seems to solve itself and the final move to the end and completion involves the easiest logic of all. Mastering the basics of Sudoku usually means that even a beginner will be able to start solving the puzzles in the quickest amount of time, and part of the first processes in learning this game involves knowing where to look on the grid in the first place—in the spots where you are likely to make progress.

Of all the different techniques that are discussed, most of them all come down to the same thing which is a process of elimination. In the end the task is to find out which number goes into which cell and eliminating all the others with a process of elimination. The art of playing the game has been described as approaching a mountain from several sides before deciding which is the best one to approach on. However, there seems to be two differing approaches—one involves looking at the numbers first and the others involves looking at the cells.
